I miss you buddy. I miss fetch, and hide and go seek. I miss waking up to your paws on my bed. I miss holding you under a blanket when it’s cold. I miss lying in the hammock with you when it’s nice. The love we had for each other is something some people never experience, and I could not be more grateful. You taught me how to love, and I wish I had eleven more years to give it back to you. I wish I had one more day to hear your voice as you run to the door when I get home. There never would have been enough time to show you how much you mean to me. My bed is ten pounds lighter, but everything is so much heavier without you. I’ll get better. I know you’d want that for me. I just can’t help but hurt at all the things around me that are tied to memories of you. It gives me some peace to know that it only hurts so much because of the happiness you gave me.
